It’s been a strange weekend thus far. Up and down and all over the place! Life is so full of moving parts Right now the hubby is cooking dinner (yay!), and I ran across this while…ehm, cleaning the studio….;) So neat!

Tomorrow I plan to check a few things off my 25 before 26 list! (I’m running out of time!) That is all. Have a great weekend!
I just had to share this sweet little surprise with you! Remember my birthday Etsy wish list? Last night my friend Mary surprised me with the adorable cake stand from it!
So incredibly cute 😀 And the cake was tasty, too! Thank you, Mary!
I’ve been totally crushing on chandeliers lately. Maybe it’s because I’m working in an antique gallery now, which is filled with gorgeous vintage and antique chandeliers. I was never much for them when I was younger, but now I’ve seen the light (ha!). Sure, there are chandeliers out there that are nothing special. But once you find a beautiful one, it’s hard to look away. I searched for them on Etsy, and found quite a variety to share with you!

I’ve also been really into cutouts lately, which helped me find this one by seequin:
For beautiful vintage chandeliers, visit Sheri’s Crystals:
For great outdoor lighting, check out TreasureAgain (I love Mason jar lights!):
For an acrylic flare, I recommend Accent:
I love cluster lamps, and this one by Jean Pelle is just bubbly and wonderful!
A concrete lamp?! Great juxtaposition. By a t Designs:
And I had to include a fluffy one…Made from plastic bottles!! From THISgallery:
I’m starting to think I need one for every room. And since I want each room in my house to be in a different style, this works perfectly! Chandeliers in a plethora of styles, materials, and colors. ♡
I share a birthday with one of my heroes, Albert Einstein. He was born 107 years before me to the day (132 years ago yesterday). He created profound theories on gravity, cosmology, and light, and of course he is the creator of the theory of relativity, which includes the famous e=mc². He spoke out against racism, believed in humility, and encouraged imagination. Today I dedicate my Etsy Crush post to Einstein and his creative genius.

Well, looks like I’m all set! Seriously though, my favorites list is getting rather long ♡ Maybe I’ll take a little shopping “trip” for my birthday….;)
I set a goal last month to list 10 new items in my shop in the first week of March. I’ve thought a lot about how I want to proceed with my shop, and decided several things. 1: I love art, craft, and design – and want to use all of them. 2: I love several styles and methods for each and I want to use all of them, too. 3: I love interior design!
In conclusion: I’ve started a home dec line 😀
I’ve had so much fun brainstorming, planning, and creating my new line! It allows me to use my background in architecture, art, and design in a new and exciting way. This way I can combine new and old styles, methods, materials, and more into a brand all my own. I’ll be listing all weekend, and I hope you love my new products!
It’s been drizzly here in Austin, Texas, and that has me thinking about umbrellas! Normally I actually don’t use an umbrella myself – I like to feel the rain But I do like umbrellas in and of themselves. They have such an instantly recognizable shape! They’re completely practical, yet somehow whimsical at the same time. So I went on a search through Etsy to see what kinds of people are making with this rainy day icon.
I found a fun greeting card by Earmark:
A hand carved rubber stamp by eat pray create:
A spring showers ring by Minty Fresh Studio:
A rainy day in Brooklyn print by Art Shark Designs:
A spring rain oil painting by Karen’s Fine Art:
April showers gift wrap by Smock Paper:
A crochet pattern for a parasol by Fashion Patterns:
A fine art print of a sun umbrella at the beach by Irene Suchocki:
And a fun, printable cocktail umbrellas by print your party:
I used to collect the umbrellas that came in my Shirley Temples. And when I was little I had a Mini Mouse umbrella. It was clear, so I could see the rain falling through it! What was your favorite umbrella?
Inspired by my new lipstick, a gift from my mom-in-law, today’s Etsy Crush is all about WONDER WOMAN! That’s right, MAC just came out with a new line of Wonder Woman makeup, which, in my opinion, is sheer genius. She’s a super hero and a feminist icon – who wouldn’t wear makeup ‘sponsored’ by her? 😉
Etsy is full of fun Wonder Woman items, from vintage to handmade to a little of both. Here are some of the fun products I found!
A vintage wallpaper tissue box cover (Fondue) – it has Batman on it, too! ♥
Wonder Woman cuff links (QA Create) to shine up any outfit:
Wonder Woman to cover your sketches (Crab Apple Designs):
Feel like a superhero in these Wonder Woman knickers (Knickerocker):
Drink your coffee in style with this Wonder Woman mug (LennyMud):
A glass tile pendant (Snarky and Sweet) with your favorite warrior on it:
A hand painted Wonder Woman peg doll (pegged) to carry with you:
And finally, a Wonder Woman apron (Modern Vintage Designs) – conquer your dinner!
Wow, I feel oddly powerful now, like I’m ready to take on the world! 😀
Happy Tuesday! Go, fight, win!
Stools are super handy. They’re small, convenient seats or foot rests that can be re-purposed as side tables when not in use. The hubs and I have been looking into stools as a possible solution to our nightstand problem, as well as extra seating since we love to entertain! Another thing I love about stools? They come in so many different styles! Here are a few I’ve found while perusing the every-style-welcome Etsy:
First is this handmade, cubicle stool made from upcycled coffee bean bags (VelvetBean):
Next is this set of groovy, vintage, tufted velvet stools (Fabulous Mess):
Take a look at this beautiful and ergonomic stool (Owl Stool):
Deckstool uses broken skateboards as both his inspiration and his material:
A uniquely homey stool from recycled wood and granny squares (Wood & Wool Stool):
These recyclable plastic stools are good for indoors and outdoors (fix studio):
This sculptural, natural wood stool is made to be comfortable too (Jolyon Yates):
These stools, from used oak wine barrel, are made to order (Chili Pepper Woodworks):
The “Giddyup” stool is customizable and easy to move (Quartertwenty):
These plywood stools can be flat-packed and come in fun, retro colors (Mike Hindmarsh):
So many fun designs! Which ones would you choose? How would you use them?
PS: Thank you for stopping by my weekly Etsy Crush post! I hope you make it back for some of my other weekly features and posts
Another week has flown by, and what a week it’s been! Our gym finally opened, I made soup for the first time, and we tried a new local restaurant. It’s been 80° and 17°. We had Groundhog Day [I’m all for pointless holidays, but they should at least involve candy!] and Chinese New Year – did you celebrate? But I’m most excited for today: SNOW DAY! What a great way to end the week! 😀 And when it boils down to my three things…
The good: I learned a new knitting stitch, and I absolutely love it! I’ve started on my first blanket with a soft, lustrous yarn in….Herringbone Stitch!
The not-as-good: I wasn’t as productive as I could have been. I spent much of last night playing Sudoku (I’m addicted) instead of working on anything.
The best: I get to spend today completing projects! I already finished a painting, which was super fun, and next I’ll be sewing! Then maybe some crochet and cross-stitch…It’s going to be good
What were your 3 things this week?
