So incredibly cute 😀 And the cake was tasty, too! Thank you, Mary!
I share a birthday with one of my heroes, Albert Einstein. He was born 107 years before me to the day (132 years ago yesterday). He created profound theories on gravity, cosmology, and light, and of course he is the creator of the theory of relativity, which includes the famous e=mc². He spoke out against racism, believed in humility, and encouraged imagination. Today I dedicate my Etsy Crush post to Einstein and his creative genius.

And finally, a statement for the ages (in a beautiful design) by farouche
I hope you don’t mind my sharing something a little more personal here. Since it’s based on my birthday, I figure it should be life goals, or things I really want to accomplish personally. I’m trying to make them simple to check off (rather than “work on being…”), so it’ll be easy to track my progress 😀
And, without further ado, my list!
- Bake a pie from scratch
- Start truly planning for a hike on the Appalachian Trail
- Embroider a painting (been on my list forever)
- Take a weekend away with Alex
- Participate in a 5K
- Write & send a letter to someone I admire
- Get my motorcycle license
- Learn to play Go
- Stretch & paint a looong canvas
- Build a new piece of furniture for our home
- Go on a real picnic (must include a basket + blanket!)
- Spend a day enjoying all things AUSTIN.
- Draw every day for a month (again)
- Dedicate a day to rainbows
- Finish and share an original comic
- Devote a day to spreading kindness to strangers
- Host a wine party
- Enjoy an evening on the balcony
- Be happy with my body
- Start an herb garden

- Visit a National Monument I haven’t seen before
- Try a new sport
- See a live musical

That averages out to just over 2 a month…shouldn’t be too hard, right? I guess I’ll be updating throughout the coming year. Here’s to some fun adventures!

Well, looks like I’m all set! Seriously though, my favorites list is getting rather long ♡ Maybe I’ll take a little shopping “trip” for my birthday….;)
I threw a surprise Lego party for Alex’s birthday Thursday, and I just have to tell you that it was a hit! Good dinner, great friends, and lots of Legos!! I also decorated his cake with chocolate Lego men. [Here’s how: Buy a Lego minifigure ice cube tray. Melt white chocolate and color it yellow. Fill the mold and wait for it to set. Pop out, and draw faces with black icing gel!] It was awesome. He got lots of Lego gifts and afterward we played Creationary. I love theme parties 😀
In other news, I’m in love with this book:
One of my goals this year was to blog regularly, and I have definitely done that! While I haven’t posted every single project I’ve made, I have a wonderful record of most of what I’ve created, and I’ve enjoyed looking back through the year As 2010 comes to a close, I though I’d share a few of my favorite projects with you…
Looking back makes you realize just how much you can accomplish in one year. I’d also like to say thank you to all of you who have supported me through this year and all my adventures. I’m so glad to have been able to participate in such a wonderful community of crafters, bloggers, and friends, especially such encouraging and creative ones! Thank you for 2010, and I’m looking forward to 2011!
